Breast Cancer Charity Event March 27, Philadelphia PA

"... We're incredibly excited to announce a charity fundraiser, featuring Brothers Past and other music, playing a black-tie affair at the Regal Ballroom in northeast Philly on Saturday, March 27th, 2010. Ticket prices are $125. This is a formal event, and by selling it out, we will be able to donate upwards of $30,000 to cancer patients in the Philadelphia area. Tickets include 5 hours of open bar, a 4 course catered meal, live music throughout including 2 sets from Brothers Past and a set from Beam and Deem, a short presentation, and the opportunity to get down with your friends in tuxedos and prom dresses.

Discounted hotels with transportation to and from the event are available. A special late-night party featuring FUTURE ROCK and SONKIN will be held downtown after the event, with discounted entry for Rock the Ribbon attendees.

This is a rare opportunity to give back through a community that many of us have been part of for years. I encourage everyone to tell their friends, invite their family, and spread the word. Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more. Feel free to email me with any questions, and look for other CKC events happening in the coming months!"

film write-up #18

SEVERED WAYS

if you'd be interested in watching a film about two stranded Vikings in yet to be discovered North America, than please, watch this movie. It is gorgeously shot, and has a very cool feel to it.

POSSESSION

this film, made in 1981, is intense. SAM NEILL is pretty young in this, and acts pretty freaky. Story follows a young couple with "everyday problems"... this film had some serious demonic scares. I thought this movie to be a very effective horror story.

The Calamari Wrestler

i loved this movie. It's a heartwarming story of a squid making a name for himself in the wrestling ring.

SHOCK

by Mario Bava

this movie is pretty nutty, made in 1977 with all the fury you'd expect from an Italian horror mastermind.
